Costa Mediterranea is beautiful, refined and fascinating in every detail, it is a ship inspired by Italian elegance, with fine details and a wealth of works of art. The sumptuous furnishings are complemented by modern services, large and comfortable cabins, most of which include a private balcony, plus a spacious, bright and gym with sea views.

Costa Mediterranea is a Spirit-class cruise ship operated by Costa Cruises. She was constructed at the Aker Finnyards in Helsinki, Finland at a cost of over 400 million Euros. Her design, like sister ship was derived from Carnival Cruise Lines’ Spirit-class ships (Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend and Carnival Miracle). On June 16, 2003 she departed on her maiden voyage from Genoa to Spain and Portugal.

On September, 10th 2008 “Costa Mediterranea” became the first ship which has arrived to New Sea Passenger port of St. Petersburg, Russia.

What makes Costa Mediterranea unique

• Costa Mediterranea’s public rooms, like the ten floor high Maschera d’Argento Atrium, were inspired by Italy’s 16th and 17th century palazzi and decorated to reflect the ship’s motto “Mai visto niente di simile” (You’ve never seen anything like it). The twelve decks are named after mythological and historical characters: Circe, Terpsichore, Bacco, Teseo, Orfeo, Narciso, Prometeo, Pegaso, Armonia, Cleopatra, Pandora and Medea.

• Costa Mediterranea is distinguished by its tasteful style of furnishings in Renaissance and Baroque style; it is elegant and filled with works of art, including 139 pieces of artistic silverware which make the Argentieri Restaurant unique.
• The Wellness Programme is an experience you must try at least once in your life. It takes place in a private and exclusive environment and is devoted to people who put the care of their body and mind first in their life and who strive to achieve the ultimate balance between body and mind. The pleasant feeling it creates will last throughout your cruise.
• The Ischia Wellness Centre is a haven of intimacy and silence where you can revive your senses among hydromassage pools and a sauna, steam room and fully-equipped gym. The treatments are innovative and targeted, with many different alternatives to care for your face and body.
